LEATHER ENZYMES
In today’s scenario, Leather Industry is facing tremendous pressure from the environmentalists being seen as a highly polluting process. But, as the Leather production world wide shows steady growth, this oldest industry using natural material looks at Biotechnology to clean up the process.
Epygen offers a range of Protein and Fat hydrolyzing enzymes, specially developed to cater to the needs of the Leather Industry. Selectively Hydrolizing unwanted protein and fat substances, the hide or skin is prepared for accepting advanced techniques of todays leather processing.
PRODUCTS
Dermilize® BA 100
Dermilize BA 100 is highly concentrated Bacterial Alkaline Protease for Leather Bating (for 100 times formulation purpose only).
Highly Concentrated Bating Enzymes
By using the tools of genetic Engineering, Proteases are selectively modified to remove non collagenous material depending on the end use of leather.
Epygen enzyme is applied as process aid in the bating step of leather manufacturing, as a component of formulations containing other chemicals and used as leather soaking agents or preparations. The application dosage depends on the process conditions and the raw material used.
- High Protease Enzyme Concentration for Dilution Only.
- Specific action on Non-Collagen Protein.
- Elastolytic and Plastolytic Activity Ratio for Superior Softness and Area and Silky Grain.
- Easy Dilution and High Yield.
Name
Dermilize® SK 30
Description
Concentrated Bacterial Protease for 30 times Dilution for efficient Soaking.
Concentrated Soaking Enzymes
Soaking is a key step of Leather making, since this prepares the hide for subsequent operations by removing salt, external dirt, interfibrillary protein, fat and polymers, and restore water content.
Enzymatic process helps to achieve efficient soaking in terms of time and Dermatan Sulphate (DS) Removal Index.
- Specially Designed Bacterial protease for efficient Soaking
- Higher degree of processing flexibility due to reduced soaking time
- Lower putrefaction
- Lower COD load
Name
Dermilize® LIP3
Description
This is a HIGHLY CONCENTRATED microbial LIPASE enzyme, produced by controlled fermentation of recombinant Aspergillus species. This wide pH range Lipase effectively hydrolyses bovine lipid and demonstrates a pattern of more consistent hydrolysis, compared to standard lipase, due to effective hydrolysis of fat cells throughout the cross section of the fat layer. Fully Bio-degradable.
Lipase for Fat Dispersion in Beamhouse
Adipose tissue on the Hide surface and subcutaneous sebaceous glands limits efficiency of Soaking Enzymes and Deliming Chemicals.
Microbial Lipases hydrolyze subcutaneous and surface fat cells in an environment-friendly way, delivering following benefits:
- Upgraded quality of wet-blue stock for subsequent processing
- Improved chemical acceptance property of leather
- Dye uniformity of crust
- Improved acceptance and retention of waterproofing agents
- Reduction in residual hair and surface grease
- Fully Bio-degradable
