PRODUCTS

Name

Papyrase® RF

Description

Epygen PAPYRASE RF is designed to enhance swelling & fibrillation of fiber. A unique combination of Cellulases and Hemicallulases, produced by Recombinant technology & Protein engineering.

Fiber Developing Enzymes

Epygen Enzymes are specially designed to enhance swelling & fibrillation of fiber and partially hydrolyze ultra fines. By encouraging fibrillation in Virgin Pulp and restoring microfibrils in Recycled pulp, better paper properties can be obtained with improved machine runnability and reduced impurities in secondary fiber. Less fine generation results in better drainage.

By modifying inherent fiber properties, PAPYRASE RF enzymes can help paper maker to

  • Use inexpensive raw material or increase filler loading
  • Substantially save refining power and steam
  • Reduce stickies, hence control paper breaks and down time
  • Improve Drainage of slow stock and better machine speed
  • Improve overall productivity of machine
Name

Papyrase® IL

Description

Epygen PAPYRASE IL is a combination of specially developed Hemicellulase Enzyme that would modify cellulosic fibers and dislodge tough Ink and dirt from waste paper.

De-inking Enzymes

Neutral Deinking of Recycled waste paper using Epygen Hemicellulase, can considerably reduce the need for harsh chemicals like Caustic Soda and Peroxide, without compromising paper quality. Special inks like Laser or Polymeric inks bind with fibre so tightly that it is often not possible to disperse these with conventional chemicals, without damaging fiber. Epygen PAPYRASE IL allows the secondary fiber structure to loosen up, releasing the embedded ink with reduced usage of Alkali and Detergents.

Benefits include the following:

  • Improved pulp cleanliness and dirt count.
  • Substantial cost reduction in terms of pulping chemicals.
  • Improved operation of the grey water loops.
  • Less risk of unwanted deposits.
  • Brighter final pulp.
  • Improved paper machine runnability.
  • Reduced Dusting, improved bulk and softness in tissues.

Name

Papyrase® DN

Description

Engineered and carefully selected Fiber modifying Enzyme produced for typical pulp furnish used in Newsprint making.

Newsprint Making Enzyme

PAPYRASE DN is a combination of specially developed Hemicellulase and Esterase Enzymes to modify cellulosic fiber and dislodge Ink and Dirt from waste paper, particularly from ONP. ONP made from 100% mechanical pulp (TMP) would provide plenty of opportunities for alkali consuming reactions to take place between lignin/hemicelluloses, resulting Fiber yellowing. On the other hand, PAPYRASE DN would remove Impact ink, which is commonly used in newspaper printing, without addition of caustic, eliminating Fiber yellowing effect. Benefits from Papyrase DN are outlined as below:

  • Eliminate Alkali and other De-inking Chemicals from ONP process.
  • Improve Optical Brightness.
  • Improve printability of Newsprint.
  • Reduce pinholes.
  • Reduce dusting and stickies.
  • Improve machine and winder runnability.
Name

Papyrase® OCR

Description

Multicomponent Fiber modifying Enzyme produced by controlled fermentation of Fungi, for typical OCC furnish used in Containerboard making.

Enzymatic Containerboard Making from OCC

As OCC passes through repeated circulation process of rehydration and drying, the molecular alignment of cellulose chain alters itself, presenting an obstacle for further rehydration. Contaminants such as adhesives, coatings, glues, binders etc., that enter the mill furnish also increases. These materials become incorporated into the pulp slurry and are called “stickies”.
ENZOLASE OCR is a specially developed Lipolytic Hemicellulase Enzyme that would simultaneously control sticky and develop recycled hornified OCC pulp.

  • Reduce stickies related breaks at paper machine (dryers & calendrers) and winder.
  • Reduce linting/fluff at pre-dryer section.
  • Reduce tackiness & agglomeration properties of stickies material and keep in disperse form.
  • Improve inter-fiber bonding by enhancing fibrillation.
  • Improve swelling of hornified fiber in absence of mechanical refining.
  • Improve paper properties like Tensile and Burst.
